John 15:10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments, and abide in His love.” (NASB)
Having been a part of the Shelton family for nearly fifty years, I know for sure that my parents have always loved me. I also know that there were times when I really tested that love – although not nearly as much as my brothers and sisters. There were times I failed to do what they told me to do. They kept loving me, but I was not necessarily feeling it. The closeness was interrupted by my disobedience.
God never stops loving us. The Scripture says He loves us with an everlasting love. However, there are times when we test that love – even after we have been adopted into His family. We fail to keep His commands. We do not follow the precepts and truths He has given to us. He never stops loving us, but we may not be feeling it. The fellowship is interrupted by our disobedience. We need to return to a life of holiness.
